Delphi 2009 Training
We have a 2-days fast-paced training class focused on new features of Delphi 2009. Topics include:
- Introduction: The state of the art of Delphi and the product Roadmap.
- Unicode support: What is Unicode, how Delphi handles it, various kinds of strings, including UTF8 and ANSI,
new Unicode-related RTL functions and classes, encoding of streams, porting existing applications, managing pointes math, and much more.
- IDE: New features in the development environment, from new wizards to class explorer, from builds management to resource support,
covering other minor but very relevant.
- Language: New compiler features from generic to anonymous methods are very significant.
Beside the internals, we'll see how these features can change the way you write Delphi code. The class covers also "minor" new features,
who would have received the spotlight in a "standard" upgrade.
- New features of the RTL: Beside Unicode-related changes, I'll cover StringBuilder, text reader and writer,
and other new classes that are now part of the product.
- VCL Updates: Beside the new approach in building user interfaces (the Ribbon controls, mimicking Microsoft Office)
there are many extensions to classic controls, new graphic capabilities, and updated COM support. We'll also focus on
how Delphi 2009 support even more featrues of Windows Vista.
- dbExpress and DataSnap: We'll focus on the status of dbExpress, see the Unicode-related udpates of TDataSet,
and cover the new DataSnap three-tier architecture.
For a two-days onsite class the cost starts at 2.850 Euro (for up-to 5 developers), plus the reimbursement of travel expenses.
There is an additional charge for "remote locations". Can be combined with an eatra one or two days of additional training or consulting.

- Delphi development for Windows Vista
- XML, Web Services, Web Development, and AJAX in Delphi
- Advanced elements of Delphi Database access architecture (ClientDataSet in depth, new features of dbExpress IV, and more)
- Writing Delphi components (including data-aware and dataset componets), and IDE customization
- Delphi Object-Oriented Architectures
- Delphi dynamic architectures
- Delphi Win32 Power Workshop
- ...and any other topic I've covered at recent conferences
